Immanuel Shelter is located in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Since 2010, we have provided winter refuge services to those experiencing homelessness in Rehoboth Beach, Lewes and surrounding areas.
In September, 2015, Immanuel Shelter became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation and currently remains a winter shelter, operating from December to April each year.
Immanuel shelters homeless adult men and women, offering protection from the harsh, sometimes life-threatening winter elements.
Immanuel Shelter code purple services include offering shelter, food, clothing, basic human necessities, and friendly companionship. We provide compassionate, trained and skilled staff and volunteer services that demonstrate a respect and dignity for all Immanuel homeless guests.
Individuals receive services without prejudice. We do not discriminate based on sex, sexual orientation, race, religion, physical and/or mental special needs, or age as long as 18 years or older. Immanuel Shelter is nondenominational, electing to provide a contemplation space for those wishing to worship, meditate, or practice their faith in their individual manner.
Immanuel advocates for collaborative community solutions for homelessness, is active in legislation supporting expanded funding for serving the homeless population and participates in local initiatives dedicated to creating an all-inclusive community with expanded services and employment opportunities for those experiencing homelessness.
It is our goal to establish a permanent, year round facility in the Rehoboth Beach area that is public transportation accessible and within easy walking distance to organizations that provide extended services to those experiencing homelessness in our community.
To achieve this goal, we are in the midst of a Capital Campaign to raise much needed funds. If you can help or recommend resources, we would love to hear from you. Please to contact us. All donations to Immanuel Shelter are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
Thank you in advance for your support of Immanuel Shelter, its mission and initiatives.
